5 INFJ Personality Hacks

1. Monitor the Environment around You

The combination of Introversion, Intuition, and Feeling traits in your personality makes you extremely intuitive and sensitive. Since INFJs are so “tuned in” to the world around them, they’re very sensitive to conflict and can experience a lot of stress from it. They may even become ill if they internalize too much stress from the outside world. Keep an eye on how external circumstances are making you feel. Allow yourself to leave an environment if it’s overwhelming you. You might find it beneficial to emotionally or mentally shield yourself from certain people by consciously tuning out of their presence.

2. Look Until You Find What You’re Looking For

In relationships, you might find yourself disappointed by other people’s lack of commitment. INFJs have high expectations for themselves and others, and they seek serious, long-term relationships. Don’t let modern society convince you to settle for anything less than you truly desire. If you’re willing to put in the effort for a healthy lifelong relationship, you deserve to find someone who does, too. However, try to let the little things go. Not everything has to be perfect.

3. Follow Your Heart

Whether you’re working, choosing a career path, or in school, as an INFJ you feel a strong need to be involved with organizations or efforts that are in sync with your personal value systems. Any INFJ that spends most of their time doing something they don’t believe in will be quite unhappy, so make sure to follow your heart when choosing a college major, a career, or even a hobby. Don’t let the trends or fashions of the day influence you away from what you know is in your heart.

4. Trust Yourself

The INFJ personality type is one of the rarest, and it brings with it unusual gifts and strengths. The most noticeable of these gifts is your intuition. INFJs are so naturally intuitive that their feelings and instincts are usually correct, and they usually know it. However, INFJs are also perfectionists that frequently doubt whether they’re doing the right thing. If you haven’t already learned to trust yourself, start now because you’re probably correct in your assessment of any given situation, even if you can’t pinpoint why.

5. Use Your Intuition to Better Understand People

The same personality traits that give you your unique intuitive capabilities can also be a source of some conflict in your life, and it’s a great place to spend a little time analyzing yourself. Introverted Intuition combined with the Judging trait can cause you to be dismissive and intolerant of others. It can be easy to dismiss people when they don’t understand what you find so intuitive and obvious, and you might become unfairly sarcastic or even distrusting. If you can develop your Extraverted Feeling functions, you’ll be able to better connect with and understand people.
